Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children
July 25, 2019
This year is extra special for the TSRSC Summer Colors art event. They have asked me to be part of their Host Committee again and I am thrilled to be giving back to an organization that gave to me as a patient when I was a child. Please join me this year to help Summer Colors become an even bigger success!
Summer Colors - An Art Auction, now in its ninth year, was an idea born out of passion for both art and the patients of Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC). Founded in 2009, this art auction raises awareness about the hospital, while also exposing the Dallas community to up and coming local artists. To date, Summer Colors - An Art Auction has raised more than $106,000 for the hospital.
Each year, local artists donate original pieces of art to be featured in the auction, with all the proceeds benefiting Scottish Rite Hospital. Summer Colors provides a unique opportunity for artists to gain local exposure, all the while making a difference in the lives of the patients.

Voyage Dallas Interview Publication
May 09, 2018
The paint splatters flew overhead as they whipped across the canvas. The masterpiece was complete. With a dripping wet paintbrush in hand and paint splattered on my tiny feet, at 7 years old, I knew this was my destiny.
My days were spent doodling on the margins of pages of notebooks as my teachers lectured and as I daydreamed. I filled pages with endearing characters, whimsical font and new ideas. I learned better by sight, color and tangibility. Entering art contests at a young age, privately tutored by fine artists and skillfully creating year after year, I was preparing for my future.
As a professional artist, I create commissioned artworks for private clients, exhibit in fine art galleries and art shows, and participate in fine art contests and festivals. I also serve as a juror for local school district art contests, have organized art events for cities, the Museum of Biblical Arts, and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children to enhance the arts in the community. Through personal fine art donations and corporate fundraising, I have helped raise over $8,000 for charities. It is my desire that my works will inspire and bring joy all who view them.

Sound of Blue Jazz was created with inspiration from the color and vibrancy of Jazz music. The artist, Christina Mitchella, envisioned bringing Jazz to life on canvas and visually representing the intersection of art and music. Waves of color rise, fall and crescendo reflecting the unique melodic rhythms only found with Jazz.

Gateway Publication
September 01, 2016
In the latest publication of Gateway Magazine, I was selected to feature an artwork for their inside cover of the September edition! They chose the piece, "Freedom Abounds," which was an original art work done for a cover of a book. Click here to view Gateway Magazine September Issue.
Painting Giclèe Prints available for purchase. Painting Order Form.
Below is the story that goes with the painting.
Cover Art of Galatians Book
“Freedom Abounds”
Original Oil on Canvas
What a true delight it has been to render Galatians as an oil painting. Along the way we chose to portray a work that is abstract in nature. It leaves room for you to contemplate what you see, feel and gain from the piece. The most beautiful part is that each person will see something different.
I hope to evoke emotions of peace with this artwork, the peace that we have in Christ, knowing that we have freedom in him and through him. May the colors portrayed burst with life and dance across the canvas with joy. I pray it is a statement piece about coming out of darkness into new light.
If you look closely, you will see little white impressions of birds being set free, soaring across the sky of color. They are released into infinite opportunities, lifting upward to boundless joy. I see them living a life of uninhibited freedom.
As his words unfold in this study, I pray his glorious love fills our minds and hearts with light. May the door to our cage open so we can lift our wings to a place where freedom abounds.
